about
" 'Let Go' is my sonic love letter to Shuggie Otis," says Rafferty Swink who took the lead in writing, producing, and singing on this song. "His influence on me is so undeniable.” This song is a mid-tempo groover bathed in the warm sounds of Swink’s Farfisa and featuring the voices of no less than 4 of the members of Evolfo.
The music video that accompanies "Let Go" is a 4 minute and 20 second contemplative dream which fits the song like a colorful embrace. It is derived from a flip book Swink received as a Christmas present and illustrated himself. He expended a staggering 500 hours and a mountain of colored pencils animating a cosmic journey through the little book's 365 pages before handing it off to the band's close friend Laura Patino to do further editing. Laura proceeded to use her keen eye and technical know-how to take it into the 4th dimension.
lyrics
I make sense to myself
in a crowd
I wish I could tell you the story
the words just won’t come out
Spend time in your mind
hoping days pass slow
spend time in your mind
trying to let go
These night skies in our eyes
hide a deep sea inside
drift into tomorrow
leave your worries behind
Spend time in your mind
trying to let go
spend time in your mind
trying to grow
Spend time in your mind
sit back and let this feel grow

Oh how I long for this album in vinyl format! Such smoothness. Such warmth. Such execution. This music begs to be taken along and woven into memories. Everyone I’ve shared this album with has loved it. The music speaks far and wide. Shouting out to a fellow follower, Brian Lehmann, for his excellent taste in music. If not for him, I likely would have never stumbled upon this absolute gem! Plinchmo Larduktin
